Behind the Palace
Paws & Play was founded by Sarah Chen — a lifelong dog lover who began working in canine care at twelve years old. What started as backyard puppy playdates grew into San Francisco's most trusted boutique daycare through over a decade of hands-on expertise.
Sarah's own rescue dogs — Biscuit, Luna, and Mochi — inspired the philosophy here: treat every dog with the patience, curiosity, and unconditional care they deserve. Combined with years of shelter volunteering and foster work, that mission is woven into every single interaction at our facility.

Here's everything you need to know before your dog's first visit — simple, transparent, no surprises.
Required Vaccinations
All dogs must be current on the following vaccines before attending daycare, boarding, or grooming. Records must be on file from a licensed veterinarian.
Registration Documents
New clients complete three short forms. You can fill them out digitally and email them to us, or complete registration directly through our online client portal.
Complete Registration
Fill out the Parent Info Sheet, Dog Info Sheet, and our Terms & Conditions.
Submit Vaccine Records
Email or upload proof of current Rabies, Bordetella, and Parvo/Distemper vaccines.
Temperament Evaluation
We schedule a short free assessment to confirm your dog is a good fit for group play.
First Day of Daycare
Your pup joins the pack! You'll receive a report card and photos at the end of the day.
